abating.xyz was established in 2019 with a vision to create a strategic, collectible card game that rewards skill, creativity, and deck-building innovation. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, our team of 12 developers, artists, and game designers combines expertise in card game mechanics, fantasy lore, and competitive balance to deliver a deep, engaging experience.
Our flagship game, Abating: Arcane Duels, is a fantasy card battle game that features over 300 unique cards across 6 factions, each with distinct playstyles and lore. Players can build custom decks, compete in ranked multiplayer matches, participate in limited-time events, and collect rare cards to complete their collections. What makes us stand out? We prioritize balance and strategy—our team regularly analyzes gameplay data to ensure no card or deck is overpowered, and we offer a "balance feedback" forum where players can suggest adjustments. We also focus on lore and world-building, with each card featuring unique art and backstory that contributes to a rich fantasy universe.
We foster a competitive yet inclusive community. Abating: Arcane Duels hosts monthly tournaments with cash prizes, and our ranked ladder system offers fair matchmaking based on skill level. Our forums and Discord server are active spaces for players to share deck builds, discuss strategy, and connect with the team. Since launching, abating.xyz has grown to over 180,000 registered players and has released 8 major card set expansions. Looking forward, we’re expanding Abating: Arcane Duels with a story-driven single-player campaign, a player-vs-environment (PvE) mode, and a card crafting system that allows players to create custom cards (with moderation). We’re also developing a virtual reality (VR) version that immerses players in dynamic card battle arenas.
